Chapter 7 - The Trap is Set

"What did I sign?" Tess asked, her voice dropping to a fierce, steady whisper. The tears were completely gone, violently replaced by a dark, unbreakable resolve.

"You signed the total, irreversible transfer of Arthur's remaining corporate assets directly into your own name," Roman announced, a vicious, triumphant smirk touching the corner of his mouth. "The marriage certificate was a smokescreen. Under state law, as my legal spouse, your original inheritance rights supersede his forged documents. You just legally repossessed your mother's entire empire."

The cinematic realism of the flawless, multi-million-dollar trap completely electrified the penthouse.

Arthur thought he had sold his daughter to clear his massive debt. He had absolutely no idea that he had just voluntarily handed the keys to his entire kingdom back to the rightful queen.

"He is coming back tomorrow morning," Roman stated, checking his heavy silver watch. "He thinks I am going to hand him the finalized debt forgiveness paperwork so he can walk away a free man."

Tess slowly stood up. The fragile, weeping girl in the champagne silk gown was completely dead. She smoothed the expensive fabric, her posture radiating the crushing, undeniable authority of a woman who had just realized her true power.

She looked at the billionaire who had spent three years meticulously plotting to save her.

"We aren't giving him debt forgiveness," Tess declared coldly, her eyes flashing with absolute, terrifying vengeance.
