Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Revenge

"Her penthouse?" Arthur scoffed, rolling his eyes at his corrupt lawyers. "Roman, please. We signed the contract yesterday. The girl is yours, the debt is erased. Hand over the clearance forms."
Roman didn't hand him a clearance form. He reached onto the desk and tossed a heavy, legally notarized black folder directly at Arthur's chest.
Arthur instinctively caught it. He opened the folder, expecting to see his zero-balance statement.
Instead, he saw his late wife's original, unredacted will, attached to a massive federal asset seizure document.
The color violently drained from Arthur's powdered face. His jaw literally unhinged as his eyes scanned the paperwork. The cinematic realism of his absolute, crushing horror hit the room with the force of a freight train.
"The fifty-million-dollar debt wasn't erased, Arthur," Tess announced flawlessly, her voice echoing with undeniable authority. "It was transferred. You owe it to me."
"This is a forgery!" Arthur shrieked wildly, physically staggering backward. He frantically shoved the papers at his lawyers. "Do something! Sue them!"
The corrupt lawyers looked at the documents, immediately recognizing the federal seal of the fraud department. They physically stepped away from Arthur, refusing to go down with a sinking ship.
"Your corporate accounts are entirely frozen," Roman whispered coldly, completely devoid of human mercy. "Your personal assets have been seized. And the federal authorities have a massive, airtight case proving you forged your wife's signature to steal a fifty-million-dollar empire."
