Chapter 6 - The Lethal Trap
The cinematic realism of the terrifying, heavy tension completely electrified the penthouse.
Alessandro didn't scream. He didn't throw the baby. His quietness was infinitely more terrifying. He gently cradled little Mia in his massive, tattooed arms and looked directly down at the weeping maid.
"Did you give him the offshore routing numbers yet?" Alessandro asked clinically, his voice devoid of all human mercy.
"No," Elena sobbed, wiping her face. "He's coming here tonight to get them. He told me to unlock the service elevator at midnight so he can bypass your security team."
Alessandro looked at his expensive gold watch. It was exactly 11:45 PM.
The ruthless apex predator completely returned. He carefully handed the sleeping baby back to Elena.
"Take her into my private vault behind the bookshelf," Alessandro commanded flawlessly, his dark eyes radiating pure, demonic fury. "Lock it from the inside. Do not come out until I tell you it's safe."
Elena didn't hesitate. She grabbed her baby and sprinted toward the hidden vault, absolutely desperate to protect her child from the incoming violence.
