Chapter 8 - The True Master
"You really thought a terrified mother would let you murder the man who could protect her baby?" Alessandro whispered coldly, standing up from the marble island.
He walked directly up to Marco, completely ignoring the dropped pistol on the floor.
"I gave you everything," Alessandro stated clinically, his deep voice carrying the crushing weight of a true titan. "I gave you money, power, and respect. And you used it to abuse a woman and threaten an eight-month-old child."
"Boss, please!" Marco shrieked wildly, violently thrashing as the enforcers aggressively grabbed his arms and forced him to his knees. "I was just doing what I had to do! She was going to ruin my reputation! You know how it is in this business!"
"No, Marco," Alessandro replied, staring down at the pathetic monster with absolute apathy. "I don't."
Alessandro didn't pull a trigger. He pulled out his cell phone.
"I already forwarded the digital evidence of your embezzlement and the security footage of your attempted break-in to the federal authorities," Alessandro announced flawlessly. "You aren't dying tonight. You're going to federal prison for twenty years, surrounded by men who know exactly what happens to guys who beat women and children."

Marco screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace as the heavy steel handcuffs were slapped onto his wrists.
