Chapter 10 - The Vow Fulfilled

Adrien walked slowly back to the stone steps. He completely ignored his tailored, expensive suit as he dropped back down to one knee in the gravel, bringing himself right to Elena's eye level.

He gently placed his large, tattooed hand over Elena’s small, trembling fingers.

"I am so incredibly sorry," Adrien whispered, genuine tears of absolute gratitude and remorse filling his intense eyes. "I brought a monster into our home. I failed to protect my son. But you... you risked your own life to save him."

"I love him," Elena choked out, weeping softly as she stroked Matteo's curly brown hair. "I couldn't let her hurt him."

Adrien looked deeply into Elena's hazel eyes. He didn't just see a brave nanny anymore. He saw a fierce protector, a woman of unshakeable loyalty, and the true heart that his broken family so desperately needed.

"You never have to run again, Elena," Adrien promised, his voice thick with profound, unbreakable emotion. "The Barones will be dismantled by midnight. The threat is entirely gone."

He gently took the heavy leather duffel bag from her shoulder and set it on the ground.

"You are no longer an employee in this house," Adrien declared softly, standing up and pulling both Elena and Matteo into a fierce, protective embrace. "You are family. I will give you the world, and nobody will ever raise a voice to you again."

In the months that followed, Victoria vanished without a trace, erased entirely from high society. The rival cartel was crushed under Adrien’s absolute wrath. But inside the grand mansion, the darkness was replaced with warmth and laughter. Elena didn't just stay; she became the true matriarch of the estate, deeply loved by a little boy who finally had a mother, and fiercely protected by a powerful king who finally found his queen.

Do you think Adrien’s punishment for his fiancée was justified, or did Victoria deserve to face the police instead of the syndicate?
