Chapter 7 - The Untouchable Territory

Inside the dark, brooding Chicago mansion, Ethan slammed his fist onto his oak desk.

"Get the jet ready!" Ethan roared at Michael. "Trace the tail number of her flight! Find out exactly what hotel she checked into. We are going to Seattle to bring my wife home!"

Michael stood rigidly in front of the desk. The loyal assistant didn't move to make the calls. Instead, he slowly placed a thick, classified red folder onto the polished wood.

"Sir, you cannot go to Seattle," Michael said, his professional voice completely tense.

Ethan’s dark eyes narrowed dangerously. "Are you giving me orders, Michael?"

"I am trying to keep you alive, sir," Michael replied evenly. He opened the folder, revealing high-resolution surveillance photos of Claire walking into the Seattle skyscraper, surrounded by heavily armed, elite guards. "Claire’s father wasn't a civilian. He was the chief financial officer for the Seattle Syndicate. They owe him their lives."

Ethan stared at the photographs. The blood completely drained from his face.

"The moment Claire landed, she was placed under their absolute, unconditional protection," Michael continued, delivering the devastating reality. "The Seattle bosses just sent an encrypted message to our capos. If you step foot in Washington state, or if you attempt to contact Claire, they will consider it an act of war and sever all our western shipping lines."

👉 Ethan was completely paralyzed, realizing that his wife was not only gone, but she was now entirely untouchable.
