Chapter 10 - The True King

Six months later, the dark, heavy shadows of manipulation and cruelty were permanently banished from Dante's life.
Silas was entirely erased from the syndicate, his name completely forgotten, his stolen millions legally transferred into a massive, untouchable trust fund for Sophie’s future. The corrupted capos who had laughed with him were stripped of their power and banished from the city, ensuring absolute, unquestionable loyalty within the organization.
Dante didn't rule his empire with cold, bitter isolation anymore.
He stood in the grand, sunlit living room of his heavily secured, massive private estate. He was no longer wearing his rigid, intimidating dark suits. Wearing a comfortable sweater, he watched with a warm, radiant, and incredibly genuine smile as Clara chased little Sophie around the expensive leather furniture.
Clara looked completely healthy, stunning, and profoundly at peace. She wasn't terrified of him anymore; she was deeply, fiercely in love with the fiercely protective father he had become.
Sophie, wearing a beautiful new dress, ran directly into Dante’s strong arms, giggling loudly as he scooped her up and kissed her cheek. She didn't have to sell antique watches in the freezing snow anymore. She was the absolute, undisputed princess of his empire, fiercely protected by an army of loyal men.
Dante closed his eyes, holding his family tightly against his chest, completely secure in his power. He had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.
