Chapter 8 - The Silver Evidence

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension gripped the luxurious penthouse.

Dante didn't raise his voice. He didn't draw a weapon. He simply walked across the polished marble floor with slow, deliberate, heavy footsteps, stopping directly in front of his treacherous underboss.

Dante reached into his pocket and slowly pulled out the antique silver pocket watch. He let the heavy silver chain dangle from his heavily tattooed fingers, the howling wolf emblem catching the ambient light of the room.

All the color violently drained from Silas’s face. He physically staggered backward, dropping his crystal whiskey glass. It shattered loudly against the marble floor, the expensive amber liquid pooling around his shoes.

"Where... where did you get that?" Silas choked out, his voice cracking into a high-pitched, pathetic squeal of pure terror.

"I bought it," Dante whispered, his voice a freezing, lethal blade cutting through the silence. "I bought it from a six-year-old girl in the freezing snow. A girl who has my eyes."

The three corrupted capos standing behind Silas immediately backed away, their hands raised in surrender. In the violent, unforgiving world of the syndicate, betraying the Boss's bloodline was an immediate, unforgivable death sentence. They wanted absolutely nothing to do with the slaughter that was about to happen.

"Boss, please, let me explain!" Silas wailed hysterically, his slick, arrogant persona completely shattering. "She lied to you! Clara is a manipulator! She made the whole thing up to steal from the family!"

"Clara didn't say a single word about the money," Dante stated clinically, stepping closer. "But my forensic accountants did. I had them audit your private offshore accounts while I was in the car."

👉 Dante revealed the absolute magnitude of the traitor's greed, sealing his doom in front of the entire mafia hierarchy.
