Chapter 10 - The Debt Repaid

Hannah looked down at her sleeping daughter, then back at the powerful man kneeling before her. She didn't see the mafia boss who had threatened her; she saw a man desperate for redemption.
"My husband didn't save your mother for a reward," Hannah whispered softly, wiping a tear from her cheek. "He did it because it was right. You don't owe me anything."
"I owe you everything," Grant corrected her firmly, slowly standing up.
He didn't offer her a quick payoff or a simple apology. He offered her absolute, unbreakable security.
"By tomorrow morning, a fifty-million-dollar trust fund will be established in your daughter's name," Grant vowed, his voice steady and resolute. "You will never have to work another exhausting shift unless you choose to. Your mortgage is paid. Your daughter’s college is paid. And you have the permanent, unquestioned protection of my entire syndicate. No one in this city will ever raise a voice to you again."
Hannah couldn't speak. She just broke down into beautiful, heavy sobs of absolute relief. The agonizing, crushing weight of poverty and grief was finally lifted from her shoulders.
In the months that followed, Grant kept every single promise.
Vince disappeared entirely, facing brutal justice in the dark exactly as he deserved. Grant’s mother made a full recovery, frequently visiting Hannah and the baby to share stories of David's bravery.

Do you think Grant’s punishment for Vince was justified, or did the traitor deserve worse for orchestrating the fire?
