Chapter 6 - The Autopsy File

Earlier that evening, while Clara was in the bedroom, Rico hadn't been sleeping. The ruthless billionaire mafia boss had been working in his private underground office.

He didn't trust Silvia’s sudden panic, and he certainly didn't believe in coincidences.

Rico pulled up the highly classified, encrypted autopsy file of his "dead" wife. He stared at the gruesome photos of the burned body that was pulled from the wreckage six months ago. But his sharp, tactical eyes noticed a massive, undeniable discrepancy.

Isabella had broken her collarbone falling off a horse when she was ten years old. It had required a surgical steel pin.

Rico zoomed in on the x-rays of the burned corpse. There was no steel pin in the collarbone.

The cinematic realization crashed over Rico with the force of a nuclear bomb. The body in the grave wasn't his wife. It was a decoy. His corrupt syndicate doctor had falsified the dental records to fake her death. And the only person who had the money and the motive to bribe the doctor was Silvia.

Rico stood up, his dark eyes turning blacker than midnight. He pulled a heavy tactical pistol from his desk drawer and racked the slide.

He checked the security cameras on his phone just in time to see Dante cornering Clara near the kitchen exit.

The grieving widower completely vanished. The lethal, unstoppable apex predator fully awakened.
