Chapter 9 - The Syndicate's Justice

Silvia fell to her knees in the snow, her expensive coat ruined. The arrogant, high-society mafia queen was completely gone, replaced by a desperate, feral coward.

"Rico, have mercy!" Silvia wailed pathetically, reaching her hands out toward him. "I'll leave the country! I'll give you all my offshore accounts! Just let me live!"

Rico didn't flinch. He completely bypassed the arrogance of his wealth and showed absolutely no human empathy for the woman who had tortured his family.

"You showed my wife no mercy when you cut her brakes," Rico stated flawlessly, his voice dripping with unstoppable justice. "And you showed my son no mercy when you let him grieve for six months."

Rico lowered his weapon and whistled sharply.

A dozen elite, heavily armed syndicate enforcers stepped out of the shadows of the estate, completely surrounding Silvia and the bleeding Dante.

"Take them to the warehouse," Rico commanded coldly. "Strip her offshore accounts and transfer every dime into Leo's trust fund. When you are done extracting the names of anyone else involved, hand them both over to the rival cartel she tried to sell me out to. Let them deal with her."

"No! Please!" Silvia shrieked like a banshee, thrashing and kicking wildly as two massive enforcers grabbed her by the arms, hauling her violently up from the snow.

"I love you, Rico!" Silvia screamed hysterically as they dragged her away.

"You only loved my throne," Rico replied, turning his back on her entirely.
