Chapter 8 - The Lethal Judgment

The traitor in the black suit didn't try to explain. Survival instinct overrode his training. He immediately reached inside his tailored jacket, his fingers frantically gripping the handle of his concealed firearm.

He intended to shoot Damien and shoot his way out of the restaurant.

But Damien Moretti was a man who had survived a dozen wars. With blinding, cinematic speed, Damien gently handed his twin babies into Ellie’s arms.

Before the guard could even unholster his weapon, Damien exploded across the Persian rug. The mafia boss closed the distance in two massive strides, his heavy boot launching into the air. He kicked the guard squarely in the chest with the force of a freight train.

The traitor flew backward, crashing violently through a wooden serving table, shattering plates and crystal glasses everywhere.

The other loyal guards instantly drew their weapons, aiming red laser dots directly at the traitor's chest, but Damien raised a single hand, ordering them to stand down. This was personal.

Damien stepped over the broken glass, grabbing the traitor by the lapels of his suit and violently hauling him off the ground. He slammed the man against the mahogany wall, pressing his heavy, tattooed forearm directly against the assassin's windpipe.
