Chapter 5 - The Hidden Trust

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension gripped the sunny courtyard. The other wealthy couples on the lawn completely stopped talking, watching the explosive confrontation in absolute shock.
Dominic didn't back down. He took a slow, deliberate step toward the arrogant Mr. Vance.
"You don't want a daughter," Dominic stated clinically, his dark eyes analyzing the sweating man. "You want access."
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Mr. Vance panicked, physically staggering backward as the towering mafia boss invaded his personal space.
To understand the absolute, unhinged delusion of the wealthy couple, one had to look at the massive financial secret they thought they had successfully buried. Two years ago, when Lily’s father was killed, Dominic hadn't just buried his friend. He had legally transferred ten million dollars of clean, legitimate corporate assets into an untouchable, encrypted trust fund specifically for Lily’s future medical care.
But the trust required a legal guardian's signature to unlock the funds.
Mr. Vance was the corrupt senior vice president of the bank holding the trust. He had illegally accessed the file, realized the disabled orphan was sitting on ten million dollars, and rushed to adopt her, completely intending to drain the accounts and dump Lily into a cheap, state-run medical facility the moment the money was secured.
Dominic had received the security alert about the bank breach three hours ago. That was exactly why he was standing in the courtyard.

"Mrs. Kettering," Dominic whispered coldly, not breaking eye contact with the panicking banker. "Did Mr. Vance happen to mention that his massive medical trust fund actually belongs entirely to the little girl in the wheelchair?"
👉 The orphanage director gasped in horror, completely unaware that Dominic was about to unleash absolute hell.
