Chapter 10 - The Unfinished Statue

The next morning, the luxurious winter garden was completely transformed. The heavy, dark energy was gone, replaced by warm, natural sunlight pouring through the glass ceiling.
Caleb wasn't sitting in a wheelchair. He was standing near the classic fountain, leaning slightly on an elegant silver cane, wearing a flawless tailored suit. He looked incredibly strong, his empire absolutely secure.
The glass doors opened.
Lily walked in, wearing a brand new, beautiful white dress, holding her mother’s hand. Jason, the older brother, followed closely behind, no longer looking terrified of the guards.
Caleb walked slowly toward the family. He looked down at Lily, offering a warm, genuine smile that reached his dark eyes.
"You were right," Caleb said softly. "The statue was just unfinished."
Lily beamed, completely fearless, and reached out to gently touch his cane.
"Your mother is no longer a night nurse," Caleb vowed smoothly, looking at the exhausted woman. The power of his immense wealth backed every word. "As of this exact second, she is the Head Administrator of my new private pediatric hospital wing. Your salary is quintupled. You have a new house in the safest neighborhood in the city."
The mother gasped, covering her mouth as tears of pure, unadulterated joy filled her eyes.
"And Lily," Caleb smiled, kneeling down slightly. "Your college tuition is fully funded. Whatever you want to be, the syndicate will pay for it. You will never have to be afraid again."
Lily hugged his neck tightly.

The nightmare was finally over. The traitor was locked in a paralyzed prison, the beloved fiancée was restored to her throne, and the fearless little girl in the glittery sneakers had brought the king back to life.
If you were Caleb, would you have handed Dr. Vance to the police, or was paralyzing him with his own medicine the ultimate, perfect justice?
