Chapter 7 - The Digital Guillotine

"Dante, please!" Camilla wailed hysterically, writhing on the floor in her ruined crimson dress. "It was the cartel's idea! They threatened my family! I didn't want to hurt her!"
Dante slowly stepped over to her. He didn't point his weapon at her again. A quick death was far too generous for the monster who had ordered my brutal beating.
"You gave them her route," Dante stated coldly, his eyes pitch black. "You thought you could sacrifice my heart to steal my throne."
He pulled his encrypted phone from his pocket and tapped the screen once.
"While you were bleeding on my floor, Camilla," Dante explained smoothly, "I triggered the breach protocols. The fifty million dollars my secretary just drained from the rival cartel? I didn't keep it. I just routed it directly into your father's personal offshore accounts in New York."
Camilla frowned, lethal confusion breaking through her agonizing pain. "What?"
"And then," Dante continued, a dark, ruthless smirk appearing on his face, "I tipped off the cartel that your family stole their money."
All the color violently vanished from Camilla’s face. She physically staggered on the floor, the horrific, apocalyptic reality completely paralyzing her.
She hadn't just lost Dante. Dante had expertly framed her powerful New York family for the massive cartel theft. The rival syndicate wouldn't be hunting Dante anymore—they would be hunting Camilla's bloodline to the ends of the earth.
