Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Justice

"Dominic, please!" Chloe wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees in her expensive black silk dress. "He forced me! I never wanted to betray you! I love you!"

Dominic didn't even look at her. He kept his knee pressed firmly into Vincent's chest.

"Strip them," Dominic commanded his men coldly, utterly devoid of any human mercy.

His guards stepped forward. They violently ripped the stolen gold watch from Vincent’s wrist and tore the diamond necklace from Chloe’s throat.

"While you were busy planning a party, my men raided your compound," Dominic explained smoothly, looking down at his weeping brother. "We seized every offshore account you drained. We liquidated your assets. The money you owe the cartel for the hit is gone. You are completely, permanently bankrupt."

Vincent let out a horrific, high-pitched wail of pure agony.

"Take them to the warehouse," Dominic ordered his guards. "Hand them over directly to the cartel they tried to buy my death with. Let the wolves handle the thieves."

The guards violently dragged the screaming, thrashing traitors out of the ballroom, completely humiliating them in front of the entire underworld. Their existence was permanently swallowed into violent ruin.

The empire was completely, ruthlessly secure.

A month later, I was standing in my brand-new, state-of-the-art trauma clinic. Dominic had entirely funded the multi-million-dollar medical facility, placing it completely under my control. My sister was enrolled in the safest private school in the city.

The glass doors to my office opened, and Dominic walked in. He looked completely healed, radiating an intense, protective warmth.

"The clinic looks perfect, Nora," Dominic smiled gently.

I looked at the terrifying mafia boss who had kept his promise. "You didn't have to do all this, Dominic."

"You stood in the dark and told me no," Dominic replied smoothly, stepping closer. "You're the only person in this city I trust with my life."

If you were in Nora's shoes, would you have handed the syringe over to the police, or was teaming up with the mafia boss the ultimate, perfect justice?
