Chapter 3 - The Gala Humiliation

Cara sprinted desperately through the crowded, glittering ballroom, her eyes frantically searching for the towering, broad-shouldered mafia boss.

She spotted Dante standing near the grand staircase, surrounded by powerful politicians and heavily armed guards. She pushed past the wealthy socialites, determined to scream the truth, determined to avenge her brother's murder.

"Mr. Dante! Wait!" Cara cried out, reaching her hand toward him.

Before she could get within ten feet of him, Elena materialized from the crowd. The arrogant fiancée viciously grabbed Cara by the arm, her perfectly manicured nails digging into Cara's skin.

"Security!" Elena shrieked at the top of her lungs, instantly playing the fragile victim. "This crazy waitress just tried to attack me!"

Dante turned his head, his cold, calculating eyes locking onto the commotion.

"She's lying!" Cara screamed, thrashing against the massive security guards who had instantly surrounded her. "Dante, do not get in your car! They cut your—"

Before Cara could finish the sentence, Elena violently slapped her across the face. To make the scene look even more chaotic, Elena aggressively yanked the neckline of Cara's red gown, tearing the expensive silk down her shoulder to make her look like an unhinged, dangerous stalker.

"Throw this deranged peasant into the street!" Elena commanded the guards, masking her lethal panic with high-society disgust. "She is clearly obsessed with my fiancé!"

Dante stared at Cara. His expression was completely unreadable, cold, and detached. He didn't intervene. He simply adjusted his black suit jacket and nodded to his men to remove her.
