Chapter 5 - The Bloody Confession

The freezing rain poured relentlessly over the dark cliffside as we returned to the present moment.

Dante, bleeding and exhausted, stared intensely at the waitress in the torn red gown. He held her wrist gently but firmly, waiting for an answer to his question.

"How did you know?" Dante repeated, his deep voice cutting through the howl of the storm.

Cara didn't flinch. She reached into the pocket of her ruined dress, pulled out her cracked cell phone, and hit play on the voicemail.

Tommy’s dying words echoed loudly in the dark, rainy night.

The cinematic tension on the ledge spiked to an apocalyptic level. The armed guards standing around them completely froze, their eyes widening in sheer, unadulterated horror as they listened to their underboss order the assassination of their king.

A tight, extreme close-up captured Dante’s face.

The hardened mafia boss didn't yell. He didn't curse. His dark, dangerous eyes simply turned pitch black. The intense, suspicious leader vanished, violently replaced by a cold, calculating executioner who had just realized the woman he was about to marry had planned his funeral.

"They murdered my little brother," Cara whispered, tears of pure fury mixing with the rain on her cheeks. "I tried to warn you at the gala, but she tore my dress and had me thrown out like trash."

Dante looked at the torn fabric on her shoulder, realizing the chaotic scene at the gala was a flawless, desperate cover-up by Elena.

"You risked your life," Dante said softly, his voice vibrating with absolute respect, "and threw yourself off a cliff in the mud, to save the man whose empire killed your brother?"

"I saved you so you could destroy them," Cara replied coldly.

👉 Dante slowly stood up to his full height, preparing to unleash hell, but the headlights of a luxury car were already approaching.
