Chapter 8 - The Family Reclaimed

The cinematic realism of the profoundly emotional moment paralyzed the entire facility.

Brett didn't let anyone else touch Sarah. He carried her out to the waiting SUV, wrapping her in his expensive suit jacket. He drove her directly back to their massive, heavily secured private estate in the city.

When Brett carried Sarah through the heavy front doors, the suffocating nightmare of the last five years completely, permanently ended.

Valerie was sitting on the plush rug in the living room, helping Vera and Violet put together a puzzle. The homeless twins had been bathed, fed, and dressed in beautiful, clean clothes.

Sarah completely stopped breathing. She slid out of Brett's arms, her bare feet hitting the hardwood floor.

The three five-year-old girls looked up. Vera and Violet instantly recognized the woman from their faded, deeply buried memories. Without a single microsecond of hesitation, the twins sprinted across the room, throwing themselves directly into their mother's arms.

"Mommy!" they cried, burying their faces in her chest.

Sarah collapsed to her knees, weeping hysterically as she held the babies she thought she had lost forever. Valerie ran over and joined the massive, chaotic hug, finally completing the broken family.

Brett stood in the doorway, tears streaming down his handsome face. He watched the woman he loved hold their three identical daughters. The agonizing grief he had carried for five years was entirely replaced by a fierce, undeniable, and completely unconditional love.
