Chapter 1 - The Driveway Eviction

The upscale American suburban driveway was bathed in bright, unforgiving daylight. In front of a massive, multi-million-dollar brick house, a devastating and cruel betrayal was unfolding on the concrete path. Open, hastily packed suitcases were scattered across the pavement, their contents spilling out.
Clara, a devoted wife in her thirties wearing a soft green knit sweater and dark leggings, stood completely paralyzed.
Tears streamed down her pale face as she desperately tried to comfort her two terrified children. Five-year-old Liam, wearing a grey shirt, was sobbing hysterically, burying his face into Clara’s legs. In her arms, she protectively held her younger daughter, Maya, who clung to her lilac shirt in sheer panic.
Standing opposite them was Julian.
He was Clara’s husband of eight years. Wearing a sharp tan blazer, a crisp white shirt, and blue jeans, the handsome man in his late thirties didn't look remorseful. He looked entirely arrogant. He aggressively shoved a thick stack of legal documents against Clara’s chest.

"I'm filing," Julian announced, his voice cold, authoritative, and completely devoid of human empathy. He callously kicked one of Clara’s suitcases toward the street. "Chloe is moving in tonight."
