Chapter 3 - The Cold Ultimatum

Julian puffed out his chest, completely validated by his mistress’s toxic arrogance.

He looked at Clara with absolute disgust, as if she were a stranger who had overstayed her welcome. "Chloe is right," Julian stated smoothly, adjusting the cuffs of his tan blazer. "My tech company is finally taking off. I am moving into a new echelon of society, Clara. I need a partner who matches my status, not a stay-at-home mother who contributes absolutely nothing to my empire."

Clara couldn't breathe. The sheer audacity of his words felt like a physical blow.

For eight years, she had financially supported him. She had paid for his failed business ventures, cooked every meal, and raised their children while he went to "networking events" that were actually hotel rendezvous with Chloe.

"Julian, please," Clara wept softly, her voice cracking as Liam cried louder against her legs. "These are your children. You can't just throw us out onto the street. Where are we supposed to go?"
