Chapter 8 - The Execution of Justice

Lorenzo slowly slipped the flash drive into the breast pocket of his tailored black suit.

"Partners," Lorenzo repeated, the word dripping with pure venom.

He took a slow step toward Richard. The towering, muscular boss completely eclipsed the terrified politician.

"You think I want to be partners with a coward who beats women?" Lorenzo asked, his voice echoing through the massive foyer. "You think I want favors from a man who kicks a child's toy?"

"Please..." Richard whimpered, backing away.

Lorenzo pulled his cell phone from his pocket. He didn't call his lawyers. He didn't call the local police chief. He dialed a direct line to the FBI's regional director.

"Director Vance," Lorenzo said smoothly into the phone. "I have a package for you. Complete, undeniable forensic evidence of State Senator Richard Vance's cartel embezzlement, along with video evidence of severe domestic battery and perjury. Yes. Send your federal agents to my estate. He's waiting for you."

Richard let out a horrific, guttural scream of pure despair. He tried to run for the front doors, but Marco, Lorenzo's massive head of security, grabbed him by the back of his suit collar and threw him violently onto the marble floor.

"You can't do this!" Richard sobbed hysterically, thrashing against Marco's grip. "I'll kill you, Clara! I'll kill you!"

The local police officers, realizing their corrupt boss was entirely finished, immediately stepped back and put their hands up, wanting absolutely no part of the fallout.
