Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Slaughter

The heavy mahogany double doors of the executive boardroom were wide open.
The massive room was dominated by an enormous, polished dark wood conference table surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the entire city. But the room wasn't empty.
Sitting at the absolute head of the table was Salvatore Moretti.
The eighty-year-old grandfather sat perfectly still, his hands resting on his silver-handled cane. Standing directly behind him was Lorenzo, looking at his son with pure, unfiltered disgust. Flanking the walls were four massive, heavily armed corporate security contractors in dark suits.
Vincent physically staggered backward, his confident stride instantly shattering. He had expected an empty room. He had expected to scream at Claire in private.
"Grandpa... Dad?" Vincent stammered, the blood violently draining from his handsome face. "What is going on? Why is security here?"
"Sit down, Vincent," Salvatore commanded, his deep voice echoing with absolute, unquestionable authority.
Vincent’s knees buckled. He collapsed into the nearest leather chair, completely abandoning his powerful CEO persona. Sophia stood frozen near the door, her light blue blouse suddenly feeling incredibly tight as the terrifying patriarch locked his dark eyes onto her.
Claire walked into the room with breathtaking grace. She didn't sit down. She stood tall, cradling her baby, and opened her beige quilted handbag.
"Claire is hysterical, Grandpa," Vincent desperately lied, pointing an aggressive, shaking finger at his wife. "She is making up insane rumors about the company finances! She needs medical help!"

Claire didn't argue. She pulled a thick black folder from her handbag and dropped it flawlessly onto the polished wood of the conference table.
👉 Claire opened the folder, preparing to unleash a financial guillotine that would permanently sever Vincent's head.
