Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Betrayal

"You are no longer the CEO of this company," Salvatore announced coldly, completely devoid of human mercy. "You are completely disinherited. Your corporate accounts are frozen. Your credit cards are canceled. You do not own a single cent of the Moretti fortune."

Vincent dropped to his knees on the hardwood floor, completely humiliating himself. His sharp black suit crumpled awkwardly as he wept in sheer, unadulterated terror.

"Grandpa, please!" Vincent sobbed violently. "I have nothing! You can't leave me with nothing!"

"I am giving you twenty-four hours to sign the Bel Air estate back to the family trust," Salvatore threatened softly. "If you do not sign it over, I will personally hand this black folder to the FBI, and you will spend the next twenty years in a federal penitentiary for massive corporate wire fraud."

Sophia’s eyes widened in sheer, apocalyptic panic.

She wasn't getting a mansion. She wasn't getting a billionaire. She was getting a broke, unemployed felon who was about to be federally indicted.

"Sophia, please!" Vincent wept, reaching his trembling hand out toward his mistress. "Tell them it was a mistake! Tell them we love each other! We can start over!"

The beautiful blonde assistant looked down at the pathetic, weeping man on the floor. Her smug, arrogant loyalty instantly evaporated, violently replaced by pure, toxic self-preservation.

"Don't touch me, you broke, pathetic loser!" Sophia screamed hysterically, violently swatting his hand away. "I am not going to prison for you! I never loved you! You were just a walking ATM!"
