Chapter 8 - The Ironclad Proof

The cinematic realism of the paralyzing tension gripped the boardroom.
"I don't need medical help, Vincent," Claire stated clinically, her voice echoing perfectly across the silent room. "I need a divorce lawyer. And you need a criminal defense attorney."
Claire flipped open the black folder. She slid the first document directly toward her trembling husband.
"This is the official deed to the $6.5 million Bel Air estate, signed yesterday morning," Claire announced flawlessly. "The property is completely deeded to Sophia."
Sophia let out a horrific, high-pitched gasp, physically backing away from the table as if the paper were covered in acid.
"And this," Claire continued ruthlessly, sliding a second stack of papers forward, "is the complete, unredacted wire transfer log from the Moretti Family Master Trust. It clearly shows six and a half million dollars being illegally funneled through three Cayman Island shell companies to purchase the home."
Vincent stopped breathing. His jaw unhinged. He stared in apocalyptic terror at the final piece of paper Claire slid across the wood.
"And finally, here is the bank authorization form," Claire whispered, her voice a cold, lethal blade. "Featuring your forged signature of your grandfather's name."
The entire room went dead silent. The evidence was absolute, undeniable, and completely devastating.
"It was an investment!" Vincent shrieked hysterically, completely losing his mind as the walls closed in. He looked desperately at his grandfather. "It's a corporate retreat! I was hiding the assets for tax purposes! Sophia is just the property manager! I swear!"
Salvatore slowly stood up, leaning heavily on his silver cane. The terrifying apex predator completely dominated the room.
