Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Eviction
By 5:00 PM, the freezing, dark apartment was a scene of absolute, humiliating panic.
Kayla was sobbing uncontrollably on her massive suitcases, wearing her stylish white coat to try and stay warm. Diane was frantically calling every single credit card company she had, desperately trying to secure a massive cash advance to pay the building management.
Every single card was declined. Diane’s credit was completely maxed out.
At exactly 5:05 PM, the heavy front door was unlocked from the outside.
The building manager walked in, accompanied by two armed city police officers.
"Kayla," the manager announced coldly, holding a formal eviction notice. "You failed to provide the mandatory security deposit. You are in breach of your newly signed lease. You have exactly ten minutes to vacate the premises before you are arrested for criminal trespassing."
"You can't do this!" Diane shrieked wildly, clawing at the manager's jacket. "She's an influencer! She needs this apartment for her brand!"
The police officers didn't care about her brand.
They grabbed the massive suitcases and aggressively shoved them out into the hallway. They grabbed Diane and Kayla by the arms, violently herding the screaming, weeping women out of the luxury apartment.
