Chapter 2 - The Midnight Sabotage

The night before the wedding, Rachel had been exhausted from the rehearsal dinner.

Carter had played the role of the perfect, doting fiancé. He brought her a cup of chamomile tea to help her sleep. Rachel drank it with a loving smile, completely unaware that Carter had crushed a heavy, black-market sedative into the mug.

Within twenty minutes, Rachel was completely unconscious in her hotel suite.

Carter hadn't acted alone. His mother, Diane, had explicitly orchestrated the entire cruel plan.

Carter quietly unlocked the door to Rachel’s suite, holding a pair of heavy electric clippers. As the woman he was supposed to marry slept helplessly under the chemical sedative, Carter ruthlessly shaved off every single inch of her beautiful, waist-length hair.

He didn't do it as a prank. He did it as a calculated, psychological weapon.

Carter knew that Rachel was incredibly proud of her hair. He wanted her to wake up on her wedding day feeling utterly hideous, broken, and completely devoid of confidence. He needed her to feel small, desperate, and entirely dependent on him to save her from the humiliation.
