Chapter 7 - The Cornered Snake

The wealthy crowd erupted into a massive, horrified gasp. People began backing away, murmuring in absolute shock as they recognized the woman who was supposed to be dead.
Marcus’s fake grief completely vanished, replaced by a raw, desperate, and feral panic.
"Security!" Marcus shrieked into the microphone, his voice cracking horribly. "Get her out of here! She’s an imposter! It’s a sick, twisted prank! Arrest her!"
Four massive, armed security guards immediately stepped out from the shadows of the hall, marching rapidly toward the entrance to grab Anna.
Anna flinched, instinctively stepping behind Arthur for protection.
Arthur didn't even flinch. He handed Emma gently to a trusted colleague standing near the door, then stepped forward, placing his body entirely between Anna and the charging guards.
"Stand down!" Arthur roared, his voice radiating pure, undeniable dominance.
The security guards froze in their tracks.
"I am Arthur Vance," he continued, his cold eyes locking onto the head guard. "I own the private security firm you work for. If any of you lay a single finger on this woman, you won't just be fired. I will personally ensure you are locked in a federal cell for aiding an attempted murder."
The guards immediately lowered their hands, stepping backward and completely abandoning Marcus.
Marcus was hyperventilating at the podium. He realized his muscle was gone, but he still had his silver tongue.
