Chapter 3 - The Executive Suite

Evelyn completely froze. The warm, golden lighting of the dining room suddenly felt incredibly cold.

She kept her credit card tightly in her hand. She didn't sign the authorization form. A tight close-up captured Evelyn’s face as she looked directly at her smug, entitled son.

"Then explain the eleven-thousand-five-hundred-dollar executive suite," Evelyn commanded smoothly, her voice completely devoid of human warmth.

The reaction was instantaneous and violently cinematic.

Patricia’s raised champagne glass completely stopped in mid-air. The condescending smile vanished from her face, replaced by sheer, breathless confusion.

Grant physically flinched. He looked down at the leather folder, the arrogant smirk violently dropping from his face. His natural micro-expressions radiated instant, absolute panic.

Sophie slowly lifted her eyes toward her husband, her face turning incredibly pale. "What executive suite, Grant?" Sophie asked, her voice trembling. "We live twenty minutes from here. We didn't book a room."

Grant’s jaw literally unhinged. He desperately tried to reach across the table to snatch the leather folder away from his mother, completely abandoning his sophisticated persona.

"It's... it's a mistake by the hotel, Mom!" Grant stammered frantically, sweat immediately beading on his forehead. "Give me the bill. I'll take it to the manager right now and have them remove it!"

👉 Evelyn calmly pulled the leather folder out of his reach, preparing to detonate his entire reality.
