Chapter 6 - The Sister's Betrayal

The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing betrayal completely electrified the grand dining room.
Patricia violently slammed her champagne glass onto the table, shattering the crystal. "Chloe?!" Patricia shrieked hysterically, completely losing her mind. "You are sleeping with my youngest daughter?!"
"It was just one night!" Grant sobbed pathetically, completely humiliating himself in front of thirty elite guests. "It meant nothing! She pursued me! I swear to God, Sophie, I love you!"
Sophie didn't scream. She didn't throw a childish tantrum.
She slowly stood up from the table, her burgundy dress swishing in the dead-silent room. She looked at the man she had loved, the father of her children, with pure, unfiltered disgust.
"You didn't just sleep with my sister," Sophie whispered coldly, her voice devoid of all human mercy. "You booked an eleven-thousand-dollar luxury suite to cheat on me, and you actually tried to make your own mother pay for it as her birthday present."
Grant dropped to his knees on the hardwood floor, desperately trying to grab his wife's dress. "Please, baby! Don't leave me! I'll do anything! I'll go to therapy!"
Sophie aggressively yanked her dress out of his trembling hands.
