They lasted four months after the restaurant incident.
At first Victoria stayed.
Partly pride.
Partly because leaving immediately would look like admission.
Then more documents emerged.
She discovered Alejandro had promised her a share in one future restaurant without disclosing that lender consent was required.
He discovered she had been speaking independently with investigators.
Every secret made the next secret easier to believe.
Eventually Victoria moved out.
No dramatic breakup.
No screaming scene.
Just attorneys arranging personal-property collection.
Elena heard about it from somebody else.
Her reaction surprised even her.
Nothing.
No satisfaction.
No sadness.
She had finally stopped measuring her future against whether Alejandro and Victoria were happy together.
