Chapter 10 - Evelyn Almost Quit Before She Got Proof

Evelyn had considered leaving twice.
Not because she wanted to abandon Noah.
Because Bianca had begun targeting her too.
“Old staff become possessive,” Bianca told Rocco once.
Another time:
“Evelyn undermines me in front of Noah.”
Rocco dismissed the tension as territorial.
He told both women:
“Work it out.”
That sentence haunted him later.
There was no equal conflict.
One woman was trying to protect a child.
The other was manufacturing neglect.
Evelyn stayed because she knew if she left, nobody would be in the house consistently enough to see what Bianca was doing.
So she watched.
Saved text messages.
Photographed the safety-documentation folder.
Recorded the dates Noah missed meals.
Kept grocery receipts for food she secretly gave him.
She had not yet shown Rocco because she wanted enough evidence that Bianca could not dismiss it as a misunderstanding.
Then Tuesday arrived.
May you like
And Rocco saw the truth himself.
