Victor’s scheme did not magically destroy the family fortune.

Reality was less dramatic.

The trust remained.

Its archaic male-descendant clause became the subject of private litigation among beneficiaries.

Victor’s false medical representations weakened his negotiating position.

The rival family branch challenged several draft agreements.

Independent trustees stepped in.

Lawyers spent months arguing over interpretation, disclosure, and fiduciary conduct.

But nobody instantly seized everything.

Julian still had money.

Victor remained wealthy.

Sofia did not need them ruined.

She needed them unable to control her.

Her own finances were stable.

Lorenzo helped temporarily with housing and legal costs, but Sofia insisted on paying what she could herself.

She wanted support.

Not another powerful man deciding her life.
