Chapter 7 - The Safe House

Andrea burst into hysterical tears, realizing she was about to be completely broke, entirely divorced, and potentially facing federal child endangerment charges. Her reign of toxic cruelty and high-society arrogance was over forever.

Back in the bright Chicago kitchen, the chaotic, heavy energy completely evaporated.

Evelyn didn't leave Molly alone for a single second. She gently took the heavy peanut butter jar out of the little girl's hands.

"Go pack a bag, sweetie," Evelyn instructed smoothly, a fierce, unbreakable protective warmth filling her eyes. "You aren't staying in this house tonight. You're coming home with me."

Molly gasped, tears of pure, overwhelming relief finally falling over her cheeks. She realized she didn't have to hide anymore. The massive, suffocating weight of terror completely lifted from her shoulders. She ran forward and threw her arms tightly around her grandmother's waist.

In the months that followed, Nathan officially divorced Andrea, ruthlessly fighting her in court to ensure she didn't get a single dime of his corporate wealth. He completely overhauled his work schedule, drastically reducing his travel to be a present, fiercely protective father.
