Chapter 6 - The Decoy Ambush

The lead enforcer answered immediately. "Understood, boss. What are your orders?"
"Take the tracker out of the necklace," Lorenzo commanded flawlessly, his tactical brilliance fully awakened. "Place it in the trunk of the heavily armored bait truck. Drive that truck directly into the abandoned warehouse on 9th Street. The rival cartel will follow the blinking red light, expecting to find me sitting in a luxury car."
"And when they breach the warehouse, boss?" the enforcer asked.
"Burn it to the ground," Lorenzo whispered lethally. "Leave no survivors."
Lorenzo hung up the phone. He had completely turned Isabella’s assassination plot into a devastating, explosive trap that would annihilate his enemies in a single night.
But he wasn't done yet.
He dialed a second number. It was the driver of Isabella’s SUV.
"Where is she?" Lorenzo asked.
"We are approaching the private airstrip, sir," the driver replied smoothly.
Inside the SUV, Isabella was frantic. She was looking out the tinted windows, realizing they were driving completely out of the city, away from the syndicate safehouse where she had promised to deliver Lorenzo to the cartel.
"Where are we going?!" Isabella shrieked, banging on the bulletproof partition separating her from the driver. "Turn this car around right now! Lorenzo ordered you to take me to the safehouse!"
