Chapter 2 - The Stolen Mother

To understand why a tiny, eight-year-old girl in a beautiful cream dress was wielding a heavy red-handled axe inside a sacred church, one had to look back exactly three months to the darkest, most agonizing day of David’s entire life.

David was a highly successful, incredibly wealthy young heir to a massive international shipping empire. He was deeply, profoundly in love with his beautiful wife, Sarah, who was the mother of his precious daughter, Lily. They lived a perfect, idyllic life in their sprawling, multi-million-dollar estate.

But ninety days ago, Sarah had completely, mysteriously, and utterly vanished without a single trace.

David woke up to an empty bed. Sarah's clothes were gone, her passport was missing, and a massive, devastating transfer of ten million dollars had been executed from their joint corporate accounts entirely to an untraceable offshore bank. A few hours later, David received a cold, typed letter claiming that Sarah had been having a secret affair for years, that she never actually loved him, and that she had taken the money to start a new life in Europe with another man.

The betrayal completely, irreparably shattered David's heart. He was utterly devastated, plunging into a deep, dark depression. He couldn't understand how the warm, loving woman he had married could possibly abandon her own daughter so callously.

He spent weeks desperately hiring private investigators, hoping to prove the letter was a fake, but the trail was completely, professionally erased. David was left entirely alone, trying to run his massive empire while holding his grieving daughter tightly every single night.

He was incredibly vulnerable, emotionally broken, and desperately longing for any semblance of a complete family to help him raise little Lily.
