Chapter 4 - The Champagne Assault

"Stop the music!" the blonde girlfriend shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning her elegant, high-society persona.
She couldn't stand the fact that the entire ballroom was staring at a woman in a pink maid’s dress with absolute awe. Driven by pure, toxic jealousy and panic, she grabbed a full glass of red wine from a passing waiter's tray.
With a vicious sneer, she hurled the dark red liquid directly at Lena, hoping to ruin her dress and humiliate her into running away.
Lena didn't flinch.
She gracefully stepped to the side with a dancer's flawless reflexes. The expensive red wine splashed uselessly against the polished marble floor, missing her completely and splattering onto the expensive shoes of a wealthy investor standing nearby.
The ballroom gasped in horror at the girlfriend's wildly inappropriate outburst.
"Security!" Alexander roared, his voice cracking with sudden, overwhelming panic. He finally recognized the fire in Lena’s dark eyes. He knew exactly who she was, and he knew that her presence here meant his entire criminal house of cards was in jeopardy.
"Grab this woman and throw her out onto the street!" Alexander commanded, pointing a shaking finger at Lena. "She is a trespasser! She is a fraud!"
Four massive, heavily muscular security men in black suits immediately stepped forward from the shadows of the ballroom, moving aggressively toward the woman in the pink dress.

Lena didn't back away. She didn't scream for help. She stood perfectly still, her hands resting calmly at her sides.
👉 Lena reached into the pocket of her pink dress, pulling out an object that would make Alexander's heart completely stop.
