Chapter 9 - The Federal Raid
The grand mahogany doors of the ballroom violently swung open.
"Nobody move!" a booming, authoritative voice commanded.
Twelve heavily armed FBI agents wearing dark tactical vests stormed into the luxurious space. They completely shattered the elegant, high-society aesthetic as they marched directly across the polished marble floor. Their eyes were locked entirely on the weeping man in the black tuxedo.
"Alexander Vance," the lead federal agent barked, pulling a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his tactical belt. "You are under arrest for massive corporate wire fraud, felony embezzlement, and the forgery of legal documents."
"No! Please!" Alexander shrieked hysterically as the agents violently grabbed his arms and hauled him to his feet. "It was a mistake! I'll give the money back! Lena, please, tell them to stop!"
Lena stood perfectly still behind her wall of loyal security guards, her face entirely devoid of human mercy.
The blonde girlfriend tried to silently slip out the side exit, desperately hoping to escape the scandal. But a female FBI agent immediately blocked her path, forcefully grabbing her wrist.
"Victoria Hayes," the agent said coldly. "You're under arrest for conspiracy to commit fraud and receiving stolen corporate funds."
The girlfriend screamed, completely abandoning her elegant composure as the heavy steel cuffs snapped around her wrists.
