Chapter 8 - The Loyal Guards

"What are you doing?!" Alexander shrieked, his voice cracking into a pathetic squeal. "I am the CEO! I am your boss! Arrest her!"

The Head of Security, a towering man with cold, disciplined eyes, looked down at Alexander with absolute, unfiltered disgust.

"You aren't the CEO, Alexander," the Head of Security stated firmly, his deep voice carrying across the silent ballroom. "And you don't sign our paychecks anymore."

Alexander physically staggered, collapsing back onto the marble floor.

"An hour ago, before the gala officially started," the security chief explained clinically, "Ms. Sterling brought those exact documents to the private security office. We verified the original will. We verified the offshore wire transfers. We immediately contacted the Sterling Board of Directors, who held an emergency digital vote."

The older board member who had recognized Lena’s dancing stepped out from the crowd of wealthy guests. He looked at Alexander with sheer, unforgiving rage.

"You are terminated, Alexander," the board member announced coldly. "Effective immediately. You have absolutely zero authority in this building, and you do not own a single cent of the Sterling fortune."

Alexander began to hyperventilate. His sharp black tuxedo felt like a suffocating cage. He had spent six months thinking he was a brilliant, untouchable criminal mastermind, only to be completely dismantled and destroyed by a woman wearing a pink maid's apron.
