Chapter 6 - The Matriarch's Revenge

Vincent’s eyes widened as the cinematic, powerful realization washed over him.
"Your mother hired a private investigator to track me down," Evelyn continued, standing tall in the grand foyer. "She secretly came to our small apartment. She met her grandsons. She took the DNA swabs herself and had her private doctors run the test to make it legally undeniable."
Victoria was trembling violently on the staircase. "She... she was a senile old woman! That means nothing!"
"It means everything," Vincent corrected her, his voice a lethal, echoing whisper.
He looked down at the paper in his hands. Attached to the DNA results was a secondary document. It was a legally binding, heavily notarized addendum to his late mother’s massive, multi-million-dollar trust fund.
A trust fund that Victoria had been eagerly waiting to inherit tomorrow morning.
"Mother never forgot," Evelyn said, delivering the final, quiet, and decisive blow to the lie that had built Victoria’s entire marriage.
Vincent read the bold print on the legal document.

His mother hadn't just proven the boys were his. She had legally bypassed Victoria entirely. The entire matriarchal estate—the cash, the properties, and the voting power within the syndicate—was left entirely, irrevocably to the twin boys. And until they turned eighteen, the sole executor of the estate was Evelyn.
