Chapter 7 - The Eviction

Victoria let out a blood-curdling shriek of pure, unadulterated despair.

"No! That is my money!" Victoria screamed, lunging down the stairs toward Evelyn. "I earned this empire! I put up with you, Vincent! You owe me!"

Before Victoria could even get close to Evelyn, Vincent moved with blinding, explosive speed. He stepped perfectly between them, his massive frame completely blocking the woman in the red dress.

He didn't touch her. He didn't have to. The terrifying, cold authority radiating from him stopped Victoria dead in her tracks.

"You intercepted my letters," Vincent said, his voice completely devoid of human empathy. "You hid my children from me for seven years. You threatened their mother."

"Vincent, I love you!" Victoria sobbed pathetically, dropping to her knees on the marble floor.

"You love the crown," Vincent replied smoothly. "And as of today, you don't wear it anymore."

Vincent reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He didn't call a lawyer. He called his head of security.

"Marco," Vincent ordered into the phone. "Bring a team to the foyer. Victoria is leaving. She takes nothing but the clothes on her back. Cancel her credit cards, freeze her accounts, and revoke her security clearance."
