Chapter 4 - The Golden Brother

Before Declan could respond to the arrogant bride, Gideon confidently strutted out of the venue doors.
Gideon was in his early thirties, wearing a flawless, custom-tailored black tuxedo. He looked like the picture-perfect groom, radiating a smug, incredibly punchable aura of absolute victory. He walked down the stone steps and wrapped his arm possessively around Vanessa’s waist, pulling her close.
"Having trouble with the local trash, darling?" Gideon mocked, looking down at his older brother with sheer, unadulterated contempt.
Gideon had spent the last three years absolutely bankrupting the family business, draining the corporate accounts to fund his lavish lifestyle and this multi-million-dollar wedding. He desperately needed everyone to see Declan as a failure to validate his own massive, fraudulent ego.
"Listen to me very carefully, Declan," Gideon commanded, his voice loud enough for Aunt Beatrice and all the wealthy guests to hear. "I own the company. I have the girl. I have the estate. You are a disgusting, scarred loser who has absolutely nothing to his name. You don't belong in this world anymore."
Gideon pointed a manicured finger toward the gravel driveway at the bottom of the estate.
"Get your pathetic girlfriend off my property," Gideon sneered viciously. "Before I have my security team physically drag you both out into the street."

A medium close-up captured Declan. He slowly stood up from the stone wall, his broad shoulders completely shielding Delaney from the crowd. He looked back at his brother and his ex-wife. His expression instantly hardened. The quiet, gentle man vanished, violently replaced by a terrifying, calculating apex predator.
👉 Declan reached his hand down to Delaney, preparing to execute a flawlessly planned, devastating trap.
