Chapter 8 - The Financial Slaughter

"No! That's impossible!" Gideon shrieked wildly, completely abandoning his smug, golden-boy persona as pure, unadulterated panic took over. "You can't do this! I am the CEO!"

"You are nothing," Declan corrected, clicking his expensive pen.

Right there, on the stone steps of the venue, Declan signed the bottom of the federal foreclosure document. He handed the leather folder back to his lawyer.

"Execute the foreclosure," Declan commanded. "Immediately."

The lawyer nodded. He turned toward the venue and waved his hand. Instantly, three massive, heavily armored private security SUVs tore into the driveway, pulling up right behind Declan's car. Dozens of men in black tactical suits poured out, marching directly up the stone steps.

"This property is officially seized under federal foreclosure laws," the lead security officer barked loudly, bypassing the weeping bride. "Everyone has exactly five minutes to vacate the premises before you are arrested for trespassing!"

Vanessa let out an apocalyptic shriek of pure terror. Her multi-million-dollar wedding, her designer flowers, her high-society status—it was all being violently ripped away in a matter of seconds.

"Declan, please!" Aunt Beatrice wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the stone floor, completely humiliating herself. "We are family! You can't throw us out into the street!"

"You threw me out when my face was bleeding," Declan replied coldly, completely devoid of mercy. "Get off my property."
