Chapter 2 - The Bride's Cruelty

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension completely electrified the grand marble staircase.

A tight close-up captured Thea staggering backward from the sheer, violent force of the blow. The young waitress pressed her trembling hand against her burning cheek, her dark eyes wide with pure, unadulterated shock. She had literally just saved a human life, and the bride had physically assaulted her for it.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Avalene shrieked wildly, her voice echoing with toxic, aristocratic fury. She aggressively grabbed the stained fabric of her ruined ivory gown. "Do you have any idea how much this dress costs, you clumsy, worthless trash? You just ruined my entire wedding!"

"Her chair was rolling," Thea whispered breathlessly, her voice shaking as she pointed a trembling finger at the elderly woman. "The brakes failed. She was going to fall down the marble stairs. I had to drop the tray to catch her."

Avalene didn't soften. She didn't look at the seventy-year-old woman with an ounce of human mercy or relief.

A close-up captured Avalene glaring directly down at Rowena with pure, unfiltered disgust. She looked at the woman's worn gray cardigan and simple navy dress as if she were staring at a feral animal that had wandered into her multi-million-dollar palace.

"Some old woman is not my problem!" Avalene roared aggressively, completely abandoning her elegant, high-society persona. "I don't care if she falls down the stairs! She shouldn't even be in my VIP section!"

👉 Avalene turned back to the trembling waitress, entirely unaware that the quiet old woman was watching her every move.
