Chapter 6 - The Fatal Mistake

The cinematic realism of the heavy, toxic tension completely electrified the marble staircase.
Avalene let out a harsh, cruel laugh, completely oblivious to the apocalyptic financial trap closing around her neck. She genuinely believed her husband was the ultimate authority in the family.
"Oh, so this is the crazy old bat you told me about?" Avalene sneered aggressively, crossing her arms over her ruined ivory gown. "Listen to me, old woman. Callum is the CEO now. We control the money. You are just a relic holding on to the past. If you don't roll your little chair out the back door right now, I will personally have you committed to a psychiatric ward!"
"Avalene, shut up!" Callum roared aggressively, completely abandoning his loving, supportive persona. He grabbed her arm so hard she physically flinched. "Do not say another word to her!"
"Don't you tell me to shut up!" Avalene shrieked wildly, violently yanking her arm away. "She ruined my wedding! She nearly got me killed!"
"She didn't ruin anything, Avalene!" Callum panicked loudly, sweat actively pouring down his forehead. "She owns the entire company! She owns the trust fund! She owns this entire damn hotel!"
Avalene physically stopped breathing. The air in the grand ballroom was completely sucked out.

She stared at the elderly woman in the simple navy dress. The worn gray cardigan wasn't a sign of poverty. It was the absolute, untouchable confidence of a woman who was so unimaginably wealthy she didn't need to wear diamonds to prove her power.
👉 The hotel manager sprinted up the stairs, completely ready to deliver the final execution.
