Chapter 10 - The Family Reclaimed

The toxic, arrogant energy was entirely dragged out of the grand ballroom.

Cassandra and her corrupt father were officially sentenced to twenty years in a federal penitentiary. Without their massive corporate wealth—which now legally belonged to Nora—they became entirely invisible, forced to rot in concrete cells while the world completely forgot their names.

The heavy doors slammed shut, plunging the ballroom back into a profound, beautiful peace.

Julian took off his wildly expensive black tuxedo jacket. He walked over to Nora and gently, respectfully draped the warm fabric over her trembling shoulders, completely covering the degrading black and white maid uniform. He looked at her, his dark eyes radiating profound, overwhelming adoration.

Then, the terrifying, ruthless apex predator completely vanished.

Julian dropped to one knee on the marble floor. He smiled a genuine, breathtakingly warm smile and opened his arms wide. Lily didn't hesitate. The four-year-old girl ran forward, throwing her tiny arms securely around her father’s neck. Tears of pure, unadulterated joy streamed down Julian's face as he finally held his daughter for the very first time.

Julian stood up, holding Lily safely in his strong arms, and took Nora's hand. Together, they walked up the grand curved staircase, completely untouchable and fiercely protected. They had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable, defeated the monsters who tried to destroy them, and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.

If you were Nora, would you have allowed Cassandra to go to prison, or was legally stealing her entire family fortune the absolute perfect revenge?
