Chapter 6 - The Maid's Confession

"Julian, get away from that filthy trash!" Cassandra wailed hysterically, her sparkling gold dress wrinkling as she completely lost her mind. "Security! Throw this lying maid out of my house immediately!"
"This is my house," Julian commanded flawlessly, his booming voice echoing with absolute, unquestionable authority. "And you will not speak to my wife."
The entire ballroom of wealthy, elite guests audibly gasped in stunning realization.
Julian turned back to Nora, his expression softening into profound vulnerability. "Why didn't you come to me? Why are you wearing a maid's uniform in my home?"
Nora wiped the tears from her face, her profound terror finally dissolving into righteous anger. She stood up, holding Lily's hand tightly, and pointed a shaking finger directly at the woman in the gold dress.
"Because she found me a month ago," Nora confessed loudly, ensuring the entire dead-silent ballroom could hear every single word. "Cassandra told me that if I ever tried to contact you, her father would use his billions to have me legally declared an unfit mother. She promised she would put Lily in a state orphanage where I would never see her again unless I served her at this party."

Julian completely stopped breathing. The warm golden lighting of the ballroom suddenly felt incredibly cold. Cassandra hadn't just lied about the fire; she had actively, sadistically tortured his traumatized family right under his nose for her own sick entertainment.
👉 Cassandra desperately scrambled to salvage her dying empire, entirely unaware of the lethal trap she had already walked into.
