Chapter 5 - The Silver Locket

"Touch her again," Julian whispered, his voice dropping to a freezing, lethal frequency that completely paralyzed every single billionaire in the room. "And I will break your arm."
Julian stood towering over Cassandra, his dark eyes radiating pure, unadulterated, and demonic fury. The cold, bored corporate titan was completely dead, violently replaced by an absolutely terrifying apex predator.
He aggressively shoved Cassandra backward, treating the wealthy heiress like absolute garbage.
Julian didn't look at the shocked crowd. He slowly dropped to his knees on the hard marble floor, right in front of the trembling maid and the weeping four-year-old girl. His hands shook violently as he gently reached out and traced the bruising red mark on Nora's cheek.
"Nora?" Julian choked out, tears of profound, agonizing relief finally flooding his dark eyes. "They told me you burned. They showed me the ashes."
Nora sobbed, completely unable to speak as she pulled Lily tightly against her chest.
Julian’s tear-filled gaze slowly dropped to the terrified little girl hiding in her mother’s arms. Tucked beneath the collar of Lily’s faded pink dress, resting against her chest, was a tiny, custom-made silver locket. It was the exact, unique locket Julian had designed and placed around Nora's neck on their secret wedding day.
