Chapter 1 - The Foyer Crime Scene

The grand American mansion foyer was a heavily secured, pristine display of untouchable wealth. Bright, flawless lighting bounced off the highly polished marble floors and the towering, curved sweeping staircase. Absolutely nothing in this house was ever out of place, because the man who owned it was the most dangerous, unforgiving criminal syndicate boss in the state.
But right now, the absolute center of the flawless marble foyer was a complete disaster zone.
Standing in the middle of the chaos was three-year-old Lucy. She was a tiny, barefoot girl wearing a simple pink floral dress, her blonde hair tied up in a messy bun with a pink bow. She wasn't crying. She wasn't hiding. She was pointing a bold, terrifyingly serious finger toward the wall.
Sitting directly in the corner, with his nose pressed guiltily against the expensive wallpaper, was Bishop—a massive, one-hundred-pound Golden Retriever who served as the estate's primary guard dog.
Crouching nearby, watching the bizarre scene in absolute silence, was Vincent.
He was in his late thirties, wearing a flawless black suit and a black shirt. He radiated a dark, crushing authority that usually made grown men weep in terror. But right now, he was simply staring at the tiny three-year-old girl who was actively disciplining his lethal dog.

👉 Nora sprinted into the foyer, entirely certain that her daughter’s audacity was about to get them both killed.
