Chapter 2 - The Stuffed Evidence

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension spiked the moment Nora skidded into the grand foyer.

Nora was a twenty-something single mother, wearing a crisp, standard-issue maid uniform. She had only been working at the estate for two weeks, desperate to keep a roof over her daughter’s head. When she saw her three-year-old daughter yelling at the boss’s guard dog—while the terrifying mafia kingpin was physically crouching right next to them—her heart literally stopped beating in her chest.

Before Nora could grab her child, Lucy marched boldly forward.

Lucy thrust a completely shredded, saliva-covered stuffed rabbit directly toward Vincent’s face. White cotton stuffing spilled onto the polished marble floor. She didn't cower. She demanded absolute justice from the most dangerous man in the city.

"He murdered him," Lucy declared with pure, outraged conviction, holding the ruined bunny up as undeniable evidence of the dog’s crime.

Nora let out a horrific, breathless gasp. A tight close-up captured the sheer, unadulterated terror washing over the young maid’s face. She aggressively clamped both hands over her mouth, her eyes wide with apocalyptic panic. She was entirely convinced that Vincent was going to draw a weapon, or worse, throw them out into the freezing street.
